Marine Corps Kids was born in 2007 and is comprised of a large group of wonderful people from all over the country who choose to use their crafting skills to make gifts for the newborns of our military families. Despite our name, we have provided gifts to families in all branches of the military. A gift might be a blanket, sweater, hat, pair of booties or a toy. It's a small, but significant, gesture of love and support for those who keep the home fires burning.
Anyone can become a member of Marine Corps Kids. All that is required is a love for crafting and a desire to create gifts for the babies of our Service Men and Women. Please make sure that your gift is baby-safe. We encourage the use of soft cotton or acrylic yarns (many babies have allergies or sensitivities to wool) and flame-retardant fabrics. When making stuffed animals, dolls or toys, we ask that you be mindful not to include small parts (buttons, bows, etc.) that can be choking hazards for young children. Other than that, your imagination is the limit.
You can ship your gifts directly to volunteers who work on or near bases and who will distribute the gifts to the families. Please see the "Where to donate" tab for more information.
